Companies with high growth potential find capital in iNNpulsa Colombia

Bogotá, D.C. March 2014. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, through iNNpulsa Colombia, destined nearly 25 billion pesos of non-refundable capital to stimulate competition and extraordinary growth among Colombian businesses.

The first in a series of calls for early-established businesses is already open, for up to 5 billion pesos. This tool was designed to help growth ambitious companies with a market-validated product have access to resources of up to 300 million pesos. Terms and conditions may be consulted here*.

According to Catalina Ortiz, CEO of iNNpulsa Colombia, “these resources allow us to give more tools to businesspeople who reach extraordinary growth through innovation. One of the main missions that the National Government has trusted upon us is closing all gaps that hinder Colombian entrepreneurs and innovators who want to conquer global markets with ambitious businesses”, she said.

Proposals will be received since March 14 to June 13, 2014, or until resources run out.


Participants of this contest must be private legal entities (companies) established in Colombia, that:

  • Have a market validation and show fast, profitable and sustainable growth potential.
  • Have an accounting system.
  • Meet all established requirements and documents by the terms of reference.

Capital to grow:

Last year, the National Government destined non-refundable resources to co-finance high-impact early-established businesses through a seed capital contest.

Through iNNpulsa Colombia, this tool has benefited more than 50 companies and 20 organizations throughout the country, giving out 16 billion pesos.

During the next months, iNNpulsa Colombia will open two new contests for high growth potential businesses, one for the biotechnological sector and a second one that hopes to invigorate the national venture capital industry.
